We support young filmmakers

The Institute has increased activities in the area of audiovisual culture in recent years. Our main focus in this field is to support emerging Finnish film professionals and help them network internationally. For example, we have helped young Finnish filmmakers to participate in the London Film Festival, South Social Film Festival, Edinburgh Film Festival and other festivals. We also connect Finnish professionals with our British partners. We focus on projects that take a fresh, creative perspective to filmmaking and its abilities to address social issues. We also take part in projects that use film and audiovisual storytelling in education. In addition, we explore storytelling with new tools and technologies, such as augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). Please find more information on our current projects below.
