Guided tours will take place on 2, 9, and 16 June. Director Jaakko Nousiainen will introduce the work and lead the walking tour along the route through Kings Cross, followed by a Q&A. Guided walking tours will take place on 2, 9 , and 16 June at 8.45 PM, meeting at St Pancras Square. We will be limiting the size of the group to 30 participants.

Weaving, yearning is a public sound installation by Kalle Nio, Hans Rosenström and Aino Venna that unfolds along a route through Kings Cross. It is a song consisting of four voices that softly drifts through a cityscape creating an invisible thread that weaves the listener, the passer-by and the environment together for a fleeting moment.

The song, composed by Aino Venna in dialogue with the artists, will play once a day for a duration of 20 minutes around the hour of sunset. It finds its inspiration from the evening sky and the air we all breathe. With its four voices, Weaving, yearning vibrates the air as it travels through it, reflecting off surrounding surfaces, moving on the skin of the bodies nearby, making its way inside the listener. The song reminds us of our shared existence and our interwoven lives that together form a delicate and temporary community.

Weaving, yearning is the second chapter of contemporary art entity A I S T I T / coming to Our Senses, which takes place in six European cities. It is commissioned by Finnish Institute in the UK and Ireland, Finnish Institute Benelux, Institut Finlandais and Finnland-institut in Deutschland.

A I S T I T / coming to our senses, Chapter 2: Weaving Yearning, St Pancras Square from 13 May until 22 June. Starts every day at 9 PM, duration 20 min.
