Finnish Highlights from the 2022 Proms

The BBC Proms is a classical music festival held every summer at the Royal Albert Hall in London. It is well known to the wider audience for “Promming“, affordable standing tickets available on the day of the concert. This tradition is at the heart of the festival’s aim of bringing the best in classical music to the widest possible audience, which remains true to founder-conductor Henry Wood’s original vision in 1895.

The 2022 season runs from 15 July to 10 September and it is packed with a wide variety of music from a range of composers, orchestras and soloists from around the world. Among all the other talent there are a number of Finnish composers, conductors, and even the RSO in this year’s line-up. While we can recommend going to any of the Proms that might interest you, here we have collated a list of the concerts featuring Finnish talent for ease of access.

Day Promming tickets generally go on sale at 10.30 am the day of the concert. They can be bought only online, for £7.12 per ticket. More information about Promming can be found here. If you are unable to attend or want to go back to one of the Proms that have already passed, you can even listen to them on the BBC website!
