100 Finns – A record-breaking installation on 6 December

Visual artist Tuomo Manninen is calling people and venues to participate in 100 Finns – the largest video installation in the world

In the project one hundred ordinary Finns are filmed simultaneously, singing a traditional hymn Maa on niin kaunis. The 2-minute videos will be shown on 6th December 2017 at 16:00 GMT in 100 screens around the world: museums, galleries and cultural institutions from Svalbard to Cape Town and L.A. to Tokyo. The event is part of the official selections to the Finland’s centenary festivities, taking place on Finland’s Independence Day.(suomifinland100.fi). 

Tuomo Manninen is a visual artist, whose works have been exhibited at the 49th Venetian Biennale, Photaumnales, and in a solo show in Rencontres d’Arles. During his career he’s been curated by big names including Harald Szeemann and Rosa Martinez.
