5.2. In the Shadow of the Midnight Sun at the British Museum

The British Museum’s event series ‘Hidden/revealed: Disabled artists re-examine the Museum’s collection and exhibition programme’ features a conversation between the visual artist Juan delGado, Syrian-Swedish writer Khaled Alesmael and the curator of the British Museum’s Arctic: culture and climate exhibition Dr. Peter Loovers.

Juan delGado’s project In the Shadow of the Midnight Sun is a creative documentary and a multi-screen installation that follows a Syrian refugee’s travels across the Arctic landscape.

The Finnish Institute in the UK and Ireland supported delGado’s project from our 2019 Borders and freedom of movement -themed open call. The conversation takes place online on Friday 5th February 1 pm UK time, register here. Watch In the Shadow of the Midnight Sun here
