⚡ 'Perceive sea, dunes, mountains in move' exhibition is open until 3 December. flat 70 will host a tour of the exhibition on 25 November, followed by a screening of 'After We're Gone' by Ima Iduozee.

Other events this month include:

💎 Minna Henriksson’s work is featured in ‘Self-Determination: A Global Perspective’ exhibition at IMMA in Dublin. The exhibition, featuring both international and Irish artists, focuses on the new nation-states that emerged in the wake of the First World War, exploring the role of art and artists in relation to the expression of national identities, nation-building, and statecraft.

✨ ‘Deep Rooted’ group exhibition opens on 18 November at City Arts Centre in Edinburgh. ‘Under Forest Cover / Metsänpeiton Alla’ by Finnish artist Hanna Tuulikki will be displayed in the exhibition, and she will give a talk early next year about her work and her research into climate psychology, Finnish forest folklore, forest culture and industry, as well as her own Finnish heritage, to reflect on entanglements of identity, nationhood, ecology and the difficult emotions that come with ecological awareness.

We are super excited to invite you to visit ’Perceive sea, dunes, mountains in move’ exhibition at 198 Contemporary Arts and Learning (198 Railton Road, London SE24 0JT) 💫

The group exhibition features the works of Ama Essel, Sasha Huber, Ima Iduozee, Liisa-Irmelen Liwata, Mikki Noroila, Man Yau and Haliz Yosef whose works traverse across diasporic experiences, narratives, emotions, and themes of place-making, commonality, and belonging. The exhibition is curated by Nimco Kulmiye Hussein and Neicia Marsh.

The exhibition is open until 3 December (Wed-Fri 11am-5pm, Sat-Sun 12pm-5pm).

Join us for a very special night at the cinema!

We will screen Eatnameamet - Our Silent Struggle by Suvi West (Doavtter-Piera Suvi Máret) at Odeon Luxe Haymarket, London on Tuesday 26 September, 6pm.

The film is followed by a Q&A with Vice President of the Sámi Parliament Koivu-Jusse Ánne (Anni Koivisto) and activist Ella Biehtár Arvvu Iiddá (Ida-Maria Helander).

Eatnameamet – Our Silent Struggle is a political documentary revealing the Finnish Government’s assimilation and colonization policy towards the Sámi people. The Sámi people are fighting for their existence and their uncertain future with political acts. Eatnameamet is a pamphlet and a cry for help for the future of the only indigenous people of the European Union – through the voices of the Sámi people themselves.

The film is in Sámi and Finnish with English subtitles. The venue is wheelchair accessible and has the latest technology to provide audio description and hard-of-hearing facilities.
