27/9 Helene Schjerfbeck symposium at the Royal Academy

To celebrate Helene Schjerfbeck’s first solo exhibition in the UK, the Royal Academy will organise an academic symposium on Friday 27 September. This interdisciplinary symposium explores Schjerfbeck’s life, art and themes raised by her work.

The symposium welcomes international scholars, museum professionals and artists to join the symposium where Schjerfbeck’s work is mirrored to the work of her contemporaries and later artists. 

The symposium is supported by the Finnish Institute in London.
