Agit-Cirk & Makeshift Company‘s Ghost Town is an exhilarating piece about the end. It takes the audience on a journey from a broken-down car in the middle of the desert to an unexpected climax.

The show combines circus, dance, media art and live foley, with world renown collaborators: Heikki Kossi, Jessica Hung Han Yun, Emma Lister, Sakari Männistö, Aku Meriläinen, Emmi Pennanen, and Alice Williamson. Ghost Town premieres at Cirko, the Centre for new Circus in Helsinki on the 16th of March. The performances run until the end of March. The performance consists of three sections: installation-like pre- and post-show sections bookend the stage performance. There is more information about the performance structure on the Cirko website.

Agit-Cirk (FIN) has been producing contemporary circus since 2005. The collective members work in the fields of circus, music and poetry; their mission is to create innovative, high-level, multidisciplinary circus arts. Their performances have been seen in Scandinavia, Europe, Russia, New Zealand and the U.S.A.

Makeshift Company (UK) foregrounds collaboration and stories, combining circus and dance to make theatrical pieces, podcasts and photo series. Their previous full length piece, Insomniac’s Fable, premiered in 2017 and has toured the UK and Finland.

Ghost Town has been partially funded by TelepART mobility support.
