12.3. Cucina Povera at Sonica Glasgow

12.3. Cucina Povera at Sonica Glasgow

Audiovisual culture

Finnish musician Cucina Povera is one of the highlights of this year’s Sonica Glasgow festival. In her music, Cucina Povera layers loops of delicate sounds into webs that are formed as much from the absence of sound as from the notes themselves. The music is accompanied by visuals by Katie Shannon. The footage mixed from bodycams and recorded movement complete the audiovisual performance called Trials at the End of Loops.

The award-winning Sonica Glasgow festival returns for its sixth edition. Produced by Cryptic, the festival brings a pioneering programme of world-class audiovisual arts across the city. The performances showcase UK talent alongside a host of exceptional international artists from across the globe.

Cucina Povera’s performance at Sonica Glasgow was partially funded by TelepART mobility support.
