Tea Pavilion in front of Design Museum in Helsinki opens for auction on Wednesday 11th September. The auction will be open until 30th September. The pavilion is a collaboration of architect students from Aalto University in Helsinki and University of Westminster.
The unique pavilion has been featured for example in Italian Design Diffusion magazine. It is suitable to be used as a venue for memorable summer parties and other events.
The project was led by experts in wooden architecture, Pekka Heikkinen, Ransu Helenius, Sami Rintala and David Scott. It was commissioned by the Finnish Institute in London and supported by the Design Museum Helsinki and the British Embassy in Helsinki.
The Tea Pavilion celebrates the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Finland and Britain. Construction of the wooden pavilion is committed to principles of sustainable development. Possible income from the auction is directed to the next ecological construction project between the universities.
