SHORT DESCRIPTION 5 to 6 month Media/PR internship.

YOUR TASKS: Work at the Institute is often fast-paced, requiring multi-tasking and prioritising skills. As our Media/PR intern, your role is to support the Institute’s media efforts. You will update the Institute’s WordPress-website, create content for our social media channels and write press releases. You will also collect reports on the Institute’s media coverage and social media analytics. Your tasks will also include assisting in the management of the Institute’s events and general office routines.

YOUR PROFILE: You are a team player with a can-do attitude. You have a curious mind and you are widely interested in the world and society. You have studied eg. communications, journalism, English translation or English philology. You already have some experience in the field of communications, journalism, community management or marketing through work experience or free-time activities. You have an excellent command of both Finnish and English. You are passionate about writing texts that work and eager to develop good routines for it.

WHAT WE HAVE TO OFFER: A chance to learn about creating social media content for different target groups and working with journalists. An insight into planning and executing communications campaigns. An opportunity to get involved in our strategic communications by producing your own research paper.  

FUNDING The selected intern must be able to secure funding for the internship him/herself. Previous interns have secured funding for example through their universities, the Erasmus programme or the employment office (työelämävalmennus). The Institute is unable to accept interns without a source of funding. The Institute will, however, support the internship by supplying a monthly travel card for Transport for London (zones 1–2).

DATES 5 to 6 months starting September or October 2018. The dates are negotiable.
