SHORT DESCRIPTION 5 to 6 month Arts & Culture internship.

YOUR TASKS: Work at the Institute is often fast-paced, requiring multi-tasking and prioritising skills. As our Arts & Culture intern, your role is to support the activities of the Institute’s Arts & Culture Programme. You will take part in event production and management within the Arts & Culture Programme and liaise with our partners and collaborators in the cultural sector. You will help in creating content (photographs, videos, podcasts, articles) for the Institute’s online and social media channels, and you will assist the Media/PR intern in updating the Institute’s WordPress-website. Your tasks also include contributions to reports and applications, as well as assisting in the Institute’s general office routines.

YOUR PROFILE: You are a team player with a can-do attitude. You have a curious mind and you are widely interested in the world, arts and culture. You have studied eg. media related subjects or cultural management. You already have some experience in the field of culture & arts through work experience or free-time activities. You have an excellent command of both Finnish and English. 

WHAT WE HAVE TO OFFER: You will get an insight of the Institute’s work and programme in action, you will learn about fast-paced cultural production, event management and creating media content for different target groups. You will get to work with a range of individuals and institutions in the cultural sector in the UK, Ireland and Finland. 

FUNDING The selected intern must be able to secure funding for the internship him/herself. Previous interns have secured funding for example through their universities, the Erasmus programme or the employment office (työelämävalmennus). The Institute is unable to accept interns without a source of funding. The Institute will, however, support the internship by supplying a monthly travel card for Transport for London (zones 1–2).

DATES 5 to 6 months starting September or October 2018. The dates are negotiable.
